The Core Mission

Core Empowerment ("Core") has been formed to pursue a license to dispense cannabis in Massachusetts. Although not officially certified as an economic empowerment entity, Core will employ an empowerment enterprise philosophy as it implements its innovative business plan.

Core intends to open the City of Boston’s first high-quality retail cannabis establishment and Social Justice Cannabis Museum / Education Center.

The Location

Core Empowerment has selected 401A Centre Street, Boston (the location of the former Milky Way) in the heart of Hyde Square in Jamaica Plain as the site for its first dispensary.

The Jamaica Plain retail cannabis establishment, located below street level, is over six thousand square feet, which provides ample space to offer a broad range of products, house informative museum exhibits and offer educational programs. The location is secured by a lease and meets all zoning as well as Cannabis Control Commission requirements.

Core is pleased to be operating in a state which has recognized through legislation the disproportionate impacts of the drug war on certain minority communities. We embrace the opportunity to educate the public on the complex history associated with prohibition and our Social Justice Museum will recognize and memorialize that struggle.

Core is also committed to abolishing the myths and misinformation surrounding cannabis and cannabinoid science. The Core Education Center will host experts and provide reliable programs and information covering law, science, research, medical advances, forms of administration and a host of other cannabis related issues.

“Core’s commitment to its empowerment philosophy will result in a significant impact on the communities where our dispensaries are located.”
